Many thanks to the Magic Glove and Safety Company
...for their kind donation of 3 dozen pairs of gloves to the Alpharetta Arboretum. We’ve already put these gloves to good use at two of our events!
Former Alpharetta Community Garden member now volunteering at the Harvard Community Garden.
Emelie Coleman, who lead the Milton High NHS Science Club gardeners in 2011 at our garden, went off to Harvard University last August and has just been elected secretary for the semester at the Harvard Community Garden. The garden is located on campus and serves the community with the sale of fresh produce.
Volunteers Are Amazing !

On Saturday, January 28th, the Atlanta Community Food Bank supervised two groups of volunteers for the benefit of the Alpharetta Community Garden. The group above chose to volunteer as an “alternative birthday party” for Katy Purwin and Ben Watson. What a great and generous idea! The group pictured below was a girls youth group from Mountain Park First Baptist Church in Stone Mountain. What a fine group of young women.
It isn’t often that you get to have 20+ folks turning compost bins, digging up plants, hauling wheelbarrow loads of dirt around and all for...what? For the joy of volunteering! I stand in awe. Thanks guys!
New Garden Shed at
Alpharetta Community Garden

Jim Waters, carpenter and builder of the new storage shed.
The Alpharetta Community Garden, a project of the Alpharetta Arboretum, is pleased to have a new and attractive storage shed for storing tools, wheel-barrows, hay, chairs and other garden necessities. The final phase of this project will be to install a rainwater catchment system to collect rainwater from the roof that can then be used in the garden.
